Privacy Policy
How StarKids collects, uses and protects your family’s personal information.
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Who we are
StarKids Salon & Spa (“StarKids”, “we”, “us”) runs kids’ hair salons and spas in Point Cook, Keysborough and Melton, Victoria, and an online shop at starkss.com.au. StarKids is operated by Starkids Holdings Pty Ltd and its related companies, including Starkids PC Pty Ltd.
We respect your privacy and your family’s privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we look after it, and your choices. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What information we collect
We only collect what we need to look after your child, run your booking or order, and keep in touch if you’d like us to. This may include:
- Parent or guardian details: name, phone number, email and address.
- Your child’s details: first name, age and notes about their hair, preferences or anything that helps them feel comfortable in the chair.
- Health-related notes you choose to share, such as allergies or skin sensitivities, so we can treat your child safely. We only collect this with your consent and use it only for that purpose.
- Bookings and orders: appointment history, products bought, delivery address and gift card details.
- Payments: processed securely by our payment providers. We don’t store your full card number.
- Website and device information: such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and how you arrived at our site, collected through cookies and similar tools.
- Messages and feedback: enquiries, reviews, survey answers and competition entries.
- Job applications: if you apply to work with us.
Children’s information
Most of our customers are children, so we collect their information from a parent or guardian rather than from the child. We keep children’s information to the minimum needed for their visit or order.
We only share photos or videos of children (for example on our website or social media) with the permission of their parent or guardian. You can ask us to remove a photo at any time.
How we collect it
We collect information when you:
- book an appointment online or by phone
- visit one of our salons
- place an order in our online shop
- contact us, leave a review or enter a competition
- sign up to our emails or follow us on social media
- browse our website (through cookies)
Sometimes we receive information from others, such as our booking platform or a person who buys a gift card for you.
How we use it
- to provide haircuts, braids, spa treatments and parties, and manage your bookings
- to process, deliver and support your online orders, returns and refunds
- to keep your child safe and comfortable during their visit
- to answer your questions and send booking or order updates
- to send news and offers, if you’ve agreed to receive them (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- to improve our services, website and marketing
- to meet our legal obligations, and to prevent fraud and misuse of our website
We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Information stored overseas
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union. We choose reputable providers and take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information in a way that is consistent with Australian privacy law.
Marketing emails and messages
We’ll only send you marketing emails or SMS if you’ve agreed to receive them. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, or you can ask us to remove you at any time. We’ll still send messages about your bookings and orders.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. These include secure (HTTPS) connections, restricted staff access, secure payment providers that are PCI DSS compliant, and regular website security updates and backups. We keep information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, and then securely delete or de-identify it.
If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.
11. Accessing, correcting and deleting your information (User Data Deletion)
You have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of any personal information we hold about you or your child (including data collected via our website, online shop, booking system, or Meta/Facebook and Instagram integrations).
