#1. Top Side Tie
This is a small twist, making an otherwise straight forward hairstyle just that little bit more interesting. Also great for shorter hair that doesn’t manage to stay tied up all day.
To do this hairstyle:
- Make a side parting, and tie a small section of hair to one side of the head.
- Tie all the remaining hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck.
#2. High Side Ponytail
This hairstyle may take you slightly back to the 80’s, but it’s a trend that has been revived by JoJo Siwa.
To do this hairstyle:
- Gather all the hair to one side, combing or brushing it smooth.
- Make a side ponytail and position the tie as high on the side of the head as possible.
- Use a bow to accessorize and your little one will be right on trend.
#3. Double French Braid
This is a quick and easy way to gain something of the same effect as a double french braid.
To do this hairstyle:
- You will need approximately 6-8 hair ties.
- Using the hair ties, simply gather small sections of hair together and tie the hair into place. You can see the effect in the image below.
#4. The Double Flip
This classic style is a ponytail with a twist, that transforms it into something fun and functional for school.
To do this hairstyle:
- Tie the hair low at the nape of the neck.
- With your thumb and index finger, part a small space just above the hair tie.
- Flip the pony tail up and over, and gently pull it through the space you’ve created.
- For extra effect or to secure the style more, flip the hair through a second time.
#5. Cross Over Braids
Kids love this one! It works well at keeping hair away from the face, plus it looks really good.
To do this hairstyle:
- Part a top section of hair into two parts on either side of the head and tie back. It’s probably also easier to tie another two sections of the remaining hair – just as if you were doing pigtails, or bunches.
- Braid one of the top sections, once nearing the end, lay the braid diagonally across the hair and tie into the lower band.
- Repeat on the other side.
#6. Bunch of Braids
This hairstyle is as easy as a pony tail, but with a fun multi-plait look.
To do this hairstyle:
- Brush or comb the hair into a simple ponytail.
- Divide the ponytail into sections and braid each one.
- Aim to do 3 or 4 braids, and try to keep the hair ties all at the same height.
